Three heroin dealers were arrested with more than 500 bags of heroin Sept 29 in the parking lot of a McDonald’s in Rehoboth Beach. The men were arrested by detectives with the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force. State Police Detectives received information that Darin L. Copeland of Wilmington, 19, would be in possession of a large quantity of heroin, which he planned on delivering to an unspecified location in Sussex County.

At about 8:30 p.m. troopers saw a BMW Copeland was described to be driving enter the McDonald’s at 18878 Coastal Highway. Copeland and two passengers, Shaquan A. Guilford of Wilmington, 18, and Marc J. Mackay of Hockessin, 40, were contacted in the parking lot and arrested without incident. In the trunk 585 bags, totaling 8.775 grams of heroin were located, along with $450 of suspected proceeds. All three men were charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin, conspiracy, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. They were all incarcerated in lieu of $38,000 secured bond.
